Died: 20/12/1963, Bucharest RO
He studied at the Bucharest Conservatory (1928-1933) and in Vienna with Schmidt and Marx (1934-1935), then returned to Romania to work on folk and church music, which he used in his works. These, including operas, orchestral and choral music, pointed the way for a new nationalist generation after Enescu.
